Indian Autorickshaw Challenge

I came across this amazing race for the clinically insane (hey, I didn't say that, the web-site did!) as I was surfing the web this evening. Anyone who has ever been in an autorickshaw will know how crazy this event is going to be. I spent five years in Delhi and I have been in one many a time, the autorickshaws being the main mode of transport. It's sort of like riding a cab in New York City.

The race covers 590 miles from Chennai to Kanya Kumari. It's spread over seven days with stops at places like Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry and Madurai. I would have loved to take part in the race had I still been in India and I was rich enough to afford the entry fee. The route is gorgeous and how many times does one get the chance to drive an autorickshaw?

The money collected for the race through sponsorships will be used to stop child labour in India, which is definitely a great cause.
